This study by far is the most in depth and affirming of it's kind. It puts facts around the subjective topic of the "Good Life" . It validates the need for individuals to articulate , recognize and live their purpose in order have meaning and fulfillment.

This study certainly gives confirmation to what many of us already suspected. Shining the light on these core values will perhaps provide encouragement for more of us to actualize them.

Please sign me up! Thank you

We often think this is simply the boomer generation who want the best of everything and now they're around retirement age, want more job satisfaction and don't need the money. However this is also about the young person who decides that s/he wants a three day weekend every weekend because they love surfing or motorbikes! And the people they work for are sometimes slow to adapt.

I'd be interested in knowing if you have information on people making conscious decisions to not pursue promotions. I have heard anecdotal stories of women (maybe some men too) who have decided to turn down promotions because of the negative impact that it would have on their time with their families. Curious if this came out in your research – and if so, how common is it – what factors cause people to make decisions in favor of time, not money. Thanks.
