Facebook PAGES: a great business tool…has new update features

Hi everyone, as you know, many business people….particular entrepreneurs are using Facebook PAGES for marketing their businesses.  They are such a great way to highlight your business different from the standard Facebook personal PROFILE.

As a reminder, Facebook create PAGES just about a year ago FOR this purpose.  They saw a lot of business people jumping onto Facebook and decided to create a presence just for those who want to market.

So, again, if you are a MIDLIFE entrepreneur, one like me who wants SIMPLE ways to reach out and reach people, Facebook pages may be an ideal marketing tool for you!!!

In addition, as a reminder, Facebook PAGES are picked up by search engines differently than your standard profile entries, so from this perspective, again, they are a better way to promote your business if you are looking to be seen more broadly.

But there is a new revision to making edits on Facebook pages.

I saw a short article simply explaining the changes and the "way it works"  this morning on "All Facebook" by Nick O'Neill:

"As you may have noticed over the weekend, there is no longer an action link to send an update to your Facebook Page fans directly on the sidebar. Instead, you’ll now need to go through an extra click to get updates sent. While many Page administrators don’t take advantage of updates, the click through rate on updates has increased dramatically since the new Facebook inbox launched. We highly recommend Page administrators take advantage of this increased visibility.

So how do you send the updates? It’s pretty easy. Just click on the “Edit Page” link on the sidebar. On the right hand side under “Promote Your Page” you will see a link which says “Send an Update to Fans”. While this decreased visibility may signify a greater emphasis on feed publishing from Facebook, page updates are extremely useful for reaching those users who’s feeds your stories may not be displayed in"
