I couldn't agree more! Year ago, as I was seeking new employment after working in a stressful environment under a aggressive and spiteful boss, I had an important interview. At this interview I was asked why I was looking to make a move to a new company. I thought about it and answered honestly, "I am having challenges with my supervisor and don't feel my work environment is good for me". All the books and rules on interviewing would never have supported my honesty. However, in that moment I was authentic. Needless to say, I was rewarded by a new opportunity working with a fabulous company and under a educating supervisor who I respected.

Now as I deal with clients daily who face many economic challenges in their business and are overwhelmed by technology, it is important for them to understand what I do and how I can help them. I am always very clear of my skills and if there isn't something I can help them with, I refer them to another professional who I also trust and respect.

Being authentic in life, career, love and with yourself is something you have control over and should be doing!
