Marketing Tips for Midlife Women-We Want To LEARN!

Today is the third and last segment to our "Turning Silver Into GOLD" series of Marketing Tips for Midlife Women.

This topic is a passion so we will continue to be writing about this as understanding your market will only help you thrive and succeed in business, one of our primary goals here  at NewPRimeTime.com.

On a personal note, my husband Tom and I attended a radical presentation last night as Dr. RATKEY, a famous author and MD from HARVARD, spoke about the new studies showing the DIRECT relationship between EXERCISE AND your Brain Power. Fascinating stuff…and we wil be bringing you more of this cutting edge information as it truly indicates a compelling reason(s) to change our  sedentary  lifestyles! A hint of what to do right away….I am going to start sitting on a BIG fitness ball as I work away on my computer from here on.

I just read a clever article with a quote from Edith Wharton that is fitting for today…

Let me know what you think by adding your comments.. the world of social marketing is all about connecting…so

let us know what you think…

"In spite of illness, in spite of archenemy, sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity in big things, and happy in small ways."

So on to today's article…

Our Generation Wants To Learn
Age-related memory loss and brain function is way over-estimated. New research even suggests it has a lot more to do with how you expect to age rather than any actual mental or physiological changes.( + the new research on exercise)
More important, we're all just a little more aware of learning opportunities today. And the opportunities are more accessible than ever before. That's as true for the older population as it is for everyone else.
There's a booming market for mail-order education, seminars, educational travel, and more. Heck, my own grandfather learned to manage his own stock portfolio on the computer at 90 years old! He was the first person in our family to fully embrace the computer! I seem to be the second in terms of living and working so much on the web!

Midlife Women Want To Work!
and "Follow our Bliss."
More than just "SHOW ME THE MONEY" we want work that is meaningful, on purpose and creative-oh and flexible schedules, cause we've had it with the 60 hour work week!
In too many cases, economic pressures force some people to work longer than they want to. (Especially now)
That's a problem.
While today's current economic downturn has wrecked havoc with our retirement portfolio's, we still want to do work that has purpose and gives us meaning in our lives as well as provide stimulus to our personal financial program!
But there's also a huge segment of the older population that just wants to keep on working. Some never retire from their jobs, some volunteer, still others launch second careers. And that may help explain why products that teach new skills and let people launch home businesses can do so well.

Knowing this, Barb and I have targeted this entrepreneurial, creative group to work with, coach and guide very closely at New PrimeTime.com.
We know how eager and motivated this group is to create something successful and creative while experiencing challenges, and evolving as we reach towards fulfilling our potential AND having lots of freedom and fun at the same time.
Sound like a tall order? Well Barb and I are striving to live it as well and we're a determined group of midlife women!
The bottom line?
Check your assumptions about the midlife -senior market.

We're a lot younger than you might think.

Excellent idea. The more you learn, the better you will be prepared. Perhaps you would be interested in some of the recent ideas about how women should approach this event that I recently posted on my blog: http://retirementwithaplan.wordpress.com/

In it, I look at the necessity for retirement coordination rather than looking at this as a “I-am-in-it-alone proposition”. Open communication and the alignment of with what your significant other is doing with their plan can be incredibly helpful in securing a better-than-adequate retirement.

Thanks for those encouraging words. Yes we are younger than we think, we just need to remember to continue to challenge and stretch our minds and to keep our bodies healthy, and not think that if we are past a certain age that we cannot do certain things.
