How absurd to call it a Midlife "Crisis"…
I went on YouTube tonight…..to create a channel out there for NewPRimeTime.com. I searched on "midlife" and the suggested search terms that pop up are all related to: "midlife crisis". If you search on Google…same thing. No wonder that the historical connotation of "midlife" has a negative feel.
We are on a mission to change this connotation. We in midlife have our BEST years in front of us. We have had enough lessons from hard knocks and other experiences to have a more developed perspective on: WHO we want to be, WHAT we want to do, WHAT we don't want to do, etc.
In this rocky economy, yes we do need to pay a bit of attention to having the money we need to live the life we want to live. However, many midlifers ARE finding ways to find a vocation with purpose and one which also can financially support life. After all, if you love what you do, don't you excel at it…and if you excel at something, are you really sure that you cannot find a paid vocation utilizing those skills?
Here is a neat USnews article on the subject.
If you want to help us change the well-known term from "Midlife Crisis" to "Midlife Adventure"….please comment here…give us YOUR midlife adventure stories or links!
