Is healing and renewal more important in midlife?
Another beautiful day here in Minneapolis….and a great day to continue "pondering the possibilities" of what the good life is all about.
My job is to awaken the possibilities in others.
Nothing else gives me as much pleasure than seeing the shiny eyes of people as they awaken to all the possibilities
in front of them on this journey called life!
Do you know what your purpose or life job is?
This question is going to play a pivotal role in all we do here at new Primetime dot com.
We believe an essential part of enjoying the good life….is to live your purpose.
I get to play at what others work at. Do you? This is a basic question I ask many people …what do they play at that others have to work at?
A simple yet powerful way to cut to the chase to find out what you are meant to do here on earth school.
As my friend and mentor, Richard Leider wrote this month in the MARSH newsletter, "We don't normally
just decide to transform our lives. Often it takes a crisis to trigger change. The body has a purpose. We might now see the purpose clearly, but it is important to know that it exists.
Behind the seemingly random stories of change-ending addiction; losing weight; building stamina; rebuilding from illness and disability-is a common pattern. We are seeking renewal.
Deep renewal, concludes Dr. Roger Gould in his book, Transformations is not just a mind choice. Deep renewal and healing occurs so deep that ,often, it seems a mystery. It is so deep that we cannot grasp its origins with the mind alone.
'It is this fundamental task of deep self renewal,' writes Dr. Gould,'that is the force that drives all midlife experiences.'
Wow, food for thought….my spoon dishing up my fresh berries, yogurt and a little dash of granula….just stopped midway to my mouth as I type out this quote.
So this is why I am so adamant this time in my life to stick with the healthy way of life….and have struggled in the past with making the right lifestyle choices each and every day as opposed to falling off the wagon …so pattern of on and off and on and off…any else relate to that pattern? I just got plain bored with it…and realize it is NOT serving me well…not in midlife.
This is the very first time I am crystal clear that every single decision I make re food and exercise and wine…..has an inpact on my version of the good life.
For more on the good life and purpose, listen to my recent recorded interview with Richard Leider, the Pope of Purpose.
We currently have it on our main page. All you have to do is give us your email address (we promise promise promise Never to share it) and you will be able to listen in our conversation for 60 minutes of wisdom and guiding principles.
Time well spent. Richard Leider is one of the wisest thought leaders in second half life issues in the world today. We are pomoting his work, and will be launching his virtual book tour for his upcoming book….Something To Live For, Finding Your Way in the Second Half of Life.
We don't know how long we will be offering the teleseminar for free…we have plans on creating a series of great courses and teleseminars on this subject……so there is some time sensitivity with this.
