When you know better, you do better.

Yesterday's post elicited some interesting comments.

Apparently the comment section following my blog post wasn't turned on so a few people reached me by email.

One of my dear friends, Gregory Cox, of http://www.livebettercoach.com stated she felt it was "sad" that so many boomers

put losing weight at the top of their "wish list".

Imagine, of all the things they could achieve before they died, losing weight was at the top.

While surprised at the huge number of boomers who put it at the top of their list, I must admit that I would probably put it right up there too.

Yes I have many dreams and aspirations.

The longer I live , the bigger and bolder these aspirations are becoming.

Yet, upon reflection, I also know that for each of these big dreams to become a reality,

it requires me to be full of energy, full of enthusiasm and full of vitality!

The number one thing I can do today, and every day, is to exercise and watch what I eat.

Today I am well aware of the vital importance to make the right choices, not necessarily the easy choices.

Admittedly this is a recent and yes mature understanding of what is required to fulfill my goal of becoming fit, healthy and yes

leaner!

I am also well aware that for me to end up where I am today is due to a series of poor choices.

Ahh this is the best part of midlife …….armed with this new understanding and willingness to be accountable for our results,

we can make different choices.

As one of my favorite writers, Dr. Maya Angelou says, " when you know better, you do better."
