A boomer's odyssey for living her best life or unleashing the dragon spirit within

My first entry into this new blog…this will be an active blog, that I can guarantee! The biggest challenge is just to figure out what to title it. I like the meaning of "odyssey". "Odyssey" conjures up the vision of a journey-in my case pretty much a lifelong journey."Living her best life" conjures up a positive and optimistic image- doesn't it? Maybe overused because of the Oprah mantra-ya think? I do like it so much better than just stating "weight loss". It embodies the mind -body- spirit connection for me.This blog is going to be a "lifestyle by design" plan and program. An adventure I invite you to join me on.My vision is for this blog to morph into a community of like-minded men and women (more of women I think). More women then men will be attracted by the category of "fit", "50", and "fabulous." I'll track this and let you know. What I do know for sure is, I am committed to do whatever it takes to become more–more vibrant, more energetic and free myself of excess clutter. That "clutter" includes any excess clutter on my body. There is a new book out by one of Oprah's XM radio hosts Peter Walsh, "does this clutter make my butt look fat?" Great title isn't it?He says to clean up your clutter will also decrease your butt size. A little simplistic, but I can see the connection to that, can't you?We will be exploring that connection as I continue to de-clutter my life.We are heading to Springtime anyway…always a perfect time to get that feeling of new beginnings, renewal and rejuvenation. I look forward to hearing from you as well as sharing your stories."Unleashing the dragon spirit within"-a true sense of becoming conscious of owning my power. My power to overcome any negative self-talk or any behavior that smacks of sabatage. One of the joys of finally growing up or starting to feel grown up, is understanding what it means to become grown-up.It is to really own up to being accountable. To truly get that my results are based on my choices. My choices that I make each and every day. Even to understand I can choose my thoughts is freeing. "Happy "thoughts or "negative" thoughts. My choice. Your choice. So we will be sharing a journey to freedom together. I will be discussing this absolutely amazing program I just tapped into again on the Oprah show…can you tell she is a hero of mine? The show is" How To Look Good Naked" with Carson Kreeley. The title stopped me dead in my tracks. So of course I watched that show! Truly mind blowing to see how many women have such screwed up body images (me too). Apparently women think of their bodies every 15 minutes in North America. Not pleasant thoughts of our bodies by the way. More like "my butt is hanging", "my thighs are too big," my breasts aren't big enough or " my breasts aren't small enough!" and on and on and on……Our self esteem is all wrapped up with our negative self-image. I want to start the discussion of what we need to do to change this to being,"fit", "50", and "fabulous."More on this tomorrow.
